Mila Georgieva was born into a musical family inBulgaria. She began to play the violin at the age of four and, even before she reached her teens, she had garnered an international reputation, winning top prizes at competitions in Italy, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, touring Spain, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Singapore, India and China, and appearing on Italian, French and Swiss television.

Mila Georgieva studied with Dorothy DeLay and Cho-Liang Lin at the Juilliard School in New York, and with Yfrah Neaman at the Guildhall School in London.

As her career developed, she performed with the Gewandhaus Orchestra under Kurt Masur and Herbert Blomstedt, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra under Georges Prêtre, the Tonhalle Orchestra under Richard Hickox, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the orchestras of the Belgian and the Dutch Radio and Television, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra from Budapest, the RIAS Symphony Orchestra, and other orchestras. She has also performed at the Ravinia Summer Festival in Chicago with Christoph Eschenbach and at the Easter Festival in Salzburg. In the last few years, she has taken part in the Marlboro, Prussia Cove andStavanger music festivals. Mila Georgieva has extensively touredGermany,France, South America andJapan, where she has recorded four CDs for RCA Victor.

Mila Georgieva, violinSince 2003/2004, Mila Georgieva is first concertmaster of the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra.

In the latest seasons, Mila Georgieva appeared as a soloist with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra under Andrey Boreyko and touredFrancewith the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire under Yoel Levi. She also gave concerts inTokyowith the New Japan Philharmonic and inItalywith the Santa Cecilia Academy Orchestra, and touredJapanwith the Sofia Soloists Chamber Ensemble.

Mila Georgieva plays a Stradivarius violin from 1703.
